Mathematics — 25 Marks

Mathematics is very important. Focus on algebra, calculus and coordinate geometry.

Algebra (6–12 Marks)

• Set, real number system, logic
• Relation and function, logarithmic function
• Matrix, determinants, polynomial equations
• System of linear equations, permutations & combinations

Trigonometry (2–3 Marks)

Basic trig, trigonometric equations and triangle properties.

Coordinate Geometry (4–6 Marks)

Straight lines, circles, conics and coordinates in space.

Calculus (6–8 Marks)

Limits, derivatives, applications of derivatives, integration and applications.

Small topics

Vector (1–2 marks), probability (1–2 marks).

Physics — 25 Marks

Mechanics and modern physics carry big weight. Learn formulas and do numerical practice.

Mechanics (5–7 Marks)

• Kinematics, Newton’s laws, work & energy
• Circular motion, gravitation, rotation
• Fluid topics — hydrostatics, surface tension, elasticity

Heat & Thermodynamics, Optics, Wave

Study thermal expansion, thermodynamics, reflection/refraction, wave motion and Doppler effect.

Electrostatics & Electricity

Charges, capacitors, current, magnetism and AC basics.

Modern Physics

Photoelectric effect, atomic structure, X-rays, radioactivity, semiconductors.

Chemistry — 25 Marks

Chemistry is mostly theory. Focus on physical chemistry and inorganic topics.

Physical Chemistry (8–11 Marks)

Mole concept, atomic structure, equilibrium, thermodynamics and kinetics.

Inorganic Chemistry (8–10 Marks)

Water, nitrogen, oxygen family, metallurgy, halogens and heavy metals.

Organic Chemistry (7–8 Marks)

Nomenclature, functional groups, hydrocarbons, alcohols, aldehydes, carboxylic acids and biomolecules.

English — 15 Marks

English is easy to score. Practice grammar and short exercises regularly.

• Active & passive voice, direct & indirect speech
• Sound, stress, intonation and word power

General IT — 10 Marks

Basic computer knowledge. No heavy programming required for this section.

• Computer basics — hardware, software, application packages
• Internet, email, social networks, e-governance
• Digital finance tools, cyber security basics, number systems and Boolean logic
